More than just beans…

More than just beans.. Ham and Beans with honey cornbread for my Sunday dinner with the family. So thankful my parents and grandparents were such great cooks and passed that love along to me. When I cook and eat scratch made foods like this it, has a way of connecting you with those that came before you and passed on that knowledge and passion. While cooking it is like they are still right there with you dropping reminders such as, dont forget this and remember to add that, ok stir. When the meal is complete and you get to enjoy your handy work, it always brings me back to all of the good times we had growing up around a meal that brought family, friends and even strangers together. Good food has a way of bringing folks with even BIG differences together and finding common ground. If only we all did more of this today, how much better could this world be?
