BearTooth Pass, Montana, USA
Driving on one of the most beautiful drives in the U.S, Route 212 in Montana and Wyoming is Beartooth Pass. Between Red Lodge Montana and the Northeast entrace to Yellowstone National Park you will cross this stretch of road and be forever changed. This is the kind of beauty that really cannot be done justice by words, and anyone that has been there will tell you pictures just do not do it justice, and I agree. Way up around the summit at a elevation of almost 11,000 feet, you will see this hidden gem, Twin Lakes. No big fancy sign to let you know it is there, you just happen upon it and it is a must to stop and take in all of the amazing scenery. You really do feel as if you can see for eternity on a clear day up here and who knows, maybe you can. I could go on and on about this area but this is just one of the countless places that calls my soul to be there as much as possible. Given the opportunity to drive Beartooth Highway is a true blessing, especially when I can stop and photograph the area to look back on. Taking photos up here is almost like canning tomatoes for the winter, you know while you are canning the beautiful summer harvest just how great they will taste in the dead of winter, same goes for Beartooth Highway. It is only 68.7 miles long and only able to be open about 4 1/2 months a due to snowfall. So when a person has a chance to be there and taking in the 360 degree views, I think to myself the photos I take now will have to last me until next time I can make it here. I think I will break out a jar of tomatoes, get a cup of coffee and look over some of our adventures on Beartooth Pass this winter and plan our trip there for next year. It is a big beautiful world out there, get out and enjoy it! 📷☕🗻
