Still just posting everything…
Still just posting everything... Walking around Deep Ellum Texas shooting some street photography, I came across this interesting sight. The announcements that have clearly been stapled to this small section of just one pole, it seem endless and to me it represents a days gone by form of the clutter in advertising that seems to be eveywhere you look today.
Back in the 1920's, Deep Ellum Texas was a Jazz and Blues Meca, full of artists looking to play, socialize and learn from other artists all drawn to this musical hotspot. This image In black and white, I can almost imagine this must have been what it would have looked like everywhere down here back in a simple, pre-digital, a cell-phone in every hand world that we live in today, announcing their next gig and to see when and where someone else was performing they wanted to go see.
So very much we take for granted in the world we live in now that just not long ago was not even a dream yet. We have come a long, long way from the 1920's in comunication with today, everyone posting what they have to say to the world on facebook. The irony to me is that our platform may be different today, but even back then people were still just "posting" everything. ☕
